We’ve been busy these past couple weeks!  As the community has stepped up and helped us raise $16,000 so far we are starting to get ourselves prepared for our end of the bargain!  We are under the 4 week mark and we have all our supplies, been training like crazy, and have a few more local events to attend – stop by the Fat and Skinny Tire Fest this Saturday from 12-4 to see the Film For The Maker booth and our new rides all suited up for the ride.

Also, we just went LIVE with our rides too!  You can click on the Live Tracking button on the top of our page and then click on the map.  This will take to you our shared page through SPOT Tracker which pin points us every 5 minutes and updates you with our location.

We still need just over $8,000 to go to reach our $25,000 goal.  100% of all donations go directly to the House of Hope orphanage at 2nd Mile Missions in the Dominican Republic.

If you can’t make a donation but have stuff you’d like to donate to Cookie Wilson’s Garage Sale for Tour Divide – Tim and Dave.  Contact Rebecca Gehrke and she will get you the details on drop off location deadlines.  The Garage sale is May 30th-31st

Here are few posts from our training rides!  Thanks to everyone for your support and joining Tim and I on this adventure!

House of Hope Update

Rod and Nancy Wildman  just recently visited the DR (Dominican Republic) and took these pictures for us!  It’s amazing to see the fruits of our faithfulness!  Thank you for helping us impact lives!  We are all Difference Makers!  Keep sending in those donations… we still need to reach $25,000 and we’re currently at $14,300!  Check out these pictures:

Rod and Nancy are the directors of 2nd Mile Missions.  These 2 have an amazing passion for the people of Bavaro, Dominican Republic!  2nd Mile Missions is a ministry focused on providing educational, spiritual and nutritional enrichment for children in the Dominican Republic. Founded in 2005, the ministry is partnered with a local church in Bavaro, a large but very poor community outside the gates of the beautiful beaches and resorts of Punta Cana. The town is made up of underprivileged Dominicans and Haitians seeking employment in the resort development areas. Pastor Pascual Borrell and his church, Church of God for the Nations have a passion to reach the lost and provide hope for the searching. 2nd Mile Missions has worked alongside the church to provide a preschool, elementary and high school for over 500 children in poverty. A trade school is also available for students wanting to learn a specific skill for future employment.  A sponsorship program helps unite individuals from the U.S. with a specific child in the school. Sponsorship provides this child with education, a hot meal every day and school supplies. 2nd Mile Missions has also provided two school buses and is currently building a safe house for children who are abused, neglected or abandoned.  Our goal in 2nd Mile Missions is to continue providing opportunities for children to grow spiritually and academically so we can help them break the cycle of poverty in their world.

Post Holiday Updates

It’s been a bit since we last updated everyone on our progress.  As for the training it’s been slow going – lots of spinning at the gym and lifting weights!  Hopefully the snow will start melting and the weather will warm up so we can get on the roads again!

As for the donations… we’re up to $14,000 of our $25,000 goal!  We’re making head way!

We’ve picked up some speaking events: We just finished talking with the Warsaw Community Church Women’s Retreat.  We had a great time entertaining and spreading the word about Tour Divide – Tim and Dave!

Our next gig is a magazine article for Grace College.  Nancy Wildman, Tim Devlin, and David Wildman at all Grace College Alum and they are doing an article in the next issue of their magazine about Tour Divide – Tim & Dave!  Keep checking back for updates on this.

Mason Geiger Photography and Film have agreed to join us from now until we finish the Tour Divide to document everything.  These guys have big plans for this documentary so make sure to follow them.  They will also be posting updates, pictures, and videos throughout the ride.  So make sure to follow them and us on Facebook!

On the 22nd of February we meet with Summit City Bikes to discuss a partnership with them!  We can’t wait to see what the future hold this!

Also, check out our new Thank You! page and see all our current supporters.

That’s the short and sweet version.  Keep checking back as we have 3 months until we depart.  Lots to start happening between now and then!

Oh yeah we almost forgot… Tim got engaged too!  So the pressure is really on for us to make in 34 days or less.  They set a date for July 26th!

Happy Holidays Everyone!

Happy Holidays

Christmas has come and gone and New Year’s Eve is just around the corner!  2014 is the year for Tim and Dave to “pay up” aka for everyone to collect on their side of the bargain.  We are officially 5 months away from the Tour Divide!

We want to give a big shout out to First Call, Inc. (Greg and Becky Kitchens) and JR and Elizabeth Gray for their donations!  We are officially at $13,000!  Every dollar raised is helping orphans in the Dominican Republic have a safe home!

It’s Been Busy!

House of Hope

House of Hope Progress!

We apologize for the delay in communication, but things have been busy.  Since we last talked the 2nd Mile Missions House of Hope started construction!  This is awesome news… take a look at what your donations and support are doing to change lives:

2nd Mile Missions House of Hope

Not only has the construction started but we’ve been getting donations coming in.  We want to give a big shout out to:

Pamela and Lyle Folckemer

Delford and Carolyn Leidy

Steve and Susan Wildman

Daniel and Jana Williamson

Jeff and Pam Leidy

Thank you for your support of Tour Divide – Tim & Dave!

Our new total is up to $11,909 raised (see the progress HERE)!  That’s amazing!  Keep those donations coming in!

Another Donation!

Thank you to Drew and Bobbi Scholl for joining us on the journey of raising $25,000 to help 2nd Mile Missions build their orphanage in the Dominican Republic! Drew and

Bobbi decided they wanted to trade our 1 push up for every dollar raised to see how many Star Jumps we could do. They offered Tim and I $1 each for as many Star Jumps as we could complete in 2 minutes!

We still need your help! Keep sending in those donations to help Tim and I complete the Tour Divide Route (2,740 miles through the Rocky Mountains – Mexico to Banff, AB) and raise money for the 2nd Mile Missions orphanage!

125 push ups for $125

https://vimeo.com/77500407
$125 dollars donated = 125 push ups. Tim and Dave admit this might not have been such a great idea, but if it helps change a kids life then bring it on. Keep those donations coming in and watch us suffer as we do the 1 push up for every $1 donated!
